Day 54: More Snow

Wednesday, February 24, 2021

"The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own. No apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on, or blame. The gift is yours -- it is an amazing journey -- and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins." (Bob Moawad)

Hello, my lovely friends!

Guess what’s happening today? It’s going to start snowing later on this afternoon and drop a few inches, but it’ll be gone by Friday. That’s a good thing because I have my yearly check-up on Friday.

The other day I was on FB and one of my cousins is in Las Vegas. It’s also one of the cousins that had the virus. I can’t believe that she went to Las Vegas after everything she’s going through. I just don’t get it because several members of her family got it and they all still get together. This is my dad’s side of the family. Many of them got together for the Superbowl, for dinners, and now trips out of state. It’s crazy how little they think of themselves. I would do whatever I had to do to make sure the two of us are safe and I don’t get why others don’t. Why they think so little of themselves and the others in their family. I have a feeling it’s going to be a long time before we see that side of the family because they can’t stay away from each other. I have to keep the two of us safe and that’s my main priority.

It just seems that people just don’t care anymore. I feel like people are just tired because we’re coming up on a year of living this way and people continue to say they want things to go back to normal. The problem is people need to stop wishing things would go back to normal because it’s never going to be that way again. We need to adapt to this world now and instead of complaining about it. If everyone would just wear the mask and get vaccinated when they can we could stop this, but no.

I started keeping track of the old Hollywood movies this year and I’m already on 41 movies. I need to start putting together my movie journal together. Y’all know I love being organized about things. I also want to start putting my recipes together and writing them down. My mom has a blank cookbook that she’s going to put together family recipes and give to Kyle because he loves cooking.

Speaking of my nephew Kyle did I tell you all that he’s moved out on his own? He works at Boston College and two of his friends near the school. The kid buys a car and now moved out, who gave him permission to grow up? I’m happy for him.

Be safe and well! Lots of hugs and loves to you all!

I have had Covid. I believe that there are many people that either do not believe Covid exists. Or that people think it is just like having the flu. I don't understand their way of thinking. So many people have died from this virus. That is very good news for Kyle.

It's sad that so many people don't take covid seriously. I still hear from family on FB that's It's not ral. It's all lies and the number if dead is fake. I'm impatiently awaiting a call to get the vaccinations. I will feel better after I get it.

I think there are a lot of people who feel they are now safe from Covid, either because they've had it or because they've had the vaccine. Personally I think that's how things are going to keep spreading but I feel like I'm in the minority. My cousin passed away last week and I'd feel safe enough going to the funeral if it was close to home, but they live just outside of Denver which is about a 900 mile drive for us (my husband doesn't fly) and I'm just not comfortable with that kind of road trip right now!

Hard to believe when they are all grown up isn't it? I mean my son is 35 going on 36. When did that happen?

I agree with you about people. Seems like they don't care or being insensitive to others tragedy. Prime example is that my hubby received a text already making fun of Tiger Woods' tragedy. Even if you are not a fan of his, what makes you want to make fun of his situation? Makes me shake my head.

Wish people would start to practice more kindness and consideration towards others. They do insensitive things until there is a tragedy in their life and then it's a different story.

I just don't get it either about people. Those that want things normal are never going to get it until they stop gathering just for a time. Although I wonder if it was the same the last time in 1917, those that did all they could and those that just did nothing and got it. That time it was 2 years before it was gone. - Have a great day.

Oh my. It’s really literally gut wrenching how little people think of themselves AND others. Well, you’re right to make yourself and your Mom priority #1 for safety.

I would love for things to go back to normal, but . . . . no matter what our wishes are, doesn’t make it so, does it. Have to work with the reality we have. **SIGH**

That’s such a wonderful idea to put your family recipes in a cookbook. I did that for my family and it’s just a treasure. Definitely. Everytime I make a recipe from that book, it’s like cooking w/that family member.

Oh boy sounds like Kyle is adulting! Wishing him good luck. Boston is a wonderful town. DH got his law degree from Boston University. Yeah, too bad these kids don’t ask permission before growing up.
