And this is what happens. Work explodes and suddenly I am days behind posting a blog. However, usually that would cause me to just give up. Not this time!
The 11th was Veterans Day and normally a day off of work for me. However, with the auditors working and us being behind on so many things, everyone in the finance department worked. I don't know about the other two, but I worked 11 hours that day. And another 11 on Thursday.
On Friday the 13th I "only" worked 9, but that is because I hade a virtual meeting at 5 for Proud Haven, and then my grandsons arrived for their Friday night sleep over. I kept thinking about Friday, March 13th. I can't believe I have been working at home for 8 months!
On Saturday the 14th, we spent the morning with our grandsons. Then DH and I had coffee and watched a move together. After that I spent a few hours Sparking. Our Purple Phoenix team is wrapping up the Fall challenge and getting ready for the Winter challenge. I am excited for a fresh start and have been spending time getting ready to dig deep and work hard.
I also worked a couple of hours today. I am hoping to translate all these extra hours into some extra time off before Thanksgiving. I could really use a few days to decompress and get things done around the house. I have not spent any time working on my Christmas present project and we are half way through November already. Things should calm down at work after this week and I hope to spend some time on that as well.
It will only be my DH, myself, and my two grandsons and their parents for Thanksgiving. Usually we have around 25 people get together but not this year. I am not even sure that Thanksgiving will happen if things don't change with the boys. Our county just had a "special" Sunday COVID announcement because we had 527 cases in one day. Our highest before that was 370 just yesterday. My grandsons' school just went to full-time in person after doing a hybrid for a while. If these county counts keep going like this, and their school stays open, we may just have to cancel sleepovers, etc., too.
