Lesson from the Velveteen Rabbit.

It doesn't happen all at once," said the Skin Horse. "You become. It takes a long time. That's why it doesn't happen often to people who break easily, or have sharp edges, or who have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to people who don't understand. But once you are Real you can't become unreal again. It lasts for always."
The Velveteen Rabbit...
Authenticity is a collection of choices that we have to make every day. It's about the choice to show up and be real. The choice to be honest. The choice to let our true selves be seen.
Learning to be the real me without excuses is one of the hardest things I am doing or will ever do..and it is one of the most necessary for my growth.
When I do this, many I know will fall away, and that's okay..it just means those people are not my people
It is sad when you have to let certain people go in your life especially when you would want them to stay..If I must choose between growth and keeping someone who cannot stay..then I choose growth.
“I do my thing and you do your thing.
I am not in this world to live up to your expectations,
And you are not in this world to live up to mine.
You are you, and I am I, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful.
If not, it can't be helped.”
