Our Self-imposed Prison

Saturday, October 07, 2017

Bible study for today from There's Hope for Today- David Crabtree summary:
For we are God’s fellow workers; You ae God’s field, God’ s building. I Corinthians 3:9
How do you picture God? He is the master builder. He looks over desolate wasteland and becomes a Creator. He inspects his equipment, each footing, strengthening each column, assigning every task, and empowering us the willing workers. Look at him in divine ability, perfect planning, uninterrupted supply, power to dig, power to life, power to demolish and power to fabricate, power r to annex, and power to finish.
We His people are his ultimate project, His passionate vision; His work in progress; and He is determined to bring us to completion.
Will you become part of his creation?

As I read the verse it became a living test to me. My views sharpened by the writer's explanation. But the Lord sent me another message in addition, which I am sharing.

As His fellow worker in the field of spreading His word through the power of the Bible's written words. We must share what He impresses us to do. SO here goes!
As His fellow worker we must bring an energy to our work. God will help us with the words we need to share and the messages to each we encounter as not all need the same message.
Our job is to study His word and to pray for His guidance. We also have another important job. As I look around in the church at His people, I see something that He is sad about. I am guilty of this too. We were given bodies that should last a lifetime, but we do not take care of them properly. IF we do not eat correctly and exercise out bodies become useless shell after a while, encasing us in a suit of fat that diminishes our mobility and flexibility. Then we suffer from joint problems. We will also suffer from illness that we have self inflicted although many of us will blame Him.

He gives us guidance for diet in His word. He told us to beware of gluttony. Gluttony is over indulgence in anything to the point that becomes a controlling God in your life.

He will give you the strength to go the journey to health, BUT you have to do your part. You got there without His help, BUT He will help you out emoticon of your self-imposed prison. You will also benefit with increased energy, better movement, longer life, and the fullest of enjoyment of the life you have yet to live.
