Introduction Text I am a Catholic homeschooling mom of three beautiful kids - well, the oldest two have finished college, so only my baby, Danny, is still homeschooled. Danny, who is now eighteen, was diagnosed with medulloblastoma (brain cancer) in March of 2013. Since then he underwent two brain surgeries, six weeks of radiation, and over a year of chemotherapy. He was in remission for a few brief months, and then relapsed. Next he had another brain surgery and then completed a year of very difficult chemotherapy, with multiple nasty side effects. After that year, he had three blessed, beautiful years of no evidence of cancer. That ended on March 15, 2019, when he had a seizure at school, which led to a diagnosis of relapsed, inoperable, terminal cancer. Now every day with him is even more precious than before. I myself am a breast cancer survivor, and I have degenerative arthritis in my hip, which makes walking painful. Other than that, I am pretty healthy, for which I am extremely grateful.

Right now my goals are to incorporate small healthy changes. One other goal is to be able to exercise without severe pain in my hip...not sure if that is feasible with my arthritis.

I am trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, plus walking as much as I can without pain.

I am originally an Army brat and have lived in quite a few places. Currently I am in Texas, at least for a while. I have three kids, ages 29, 26, and 18. My degrees are in chemistry, but at the moment I am concentrating on trying to get Danny through relapse treatment and all that that entails.

Strength of character isn't always about how much you can handle before you break, it's also about how much you can handle after you've broken. Author unknown (at least to me)
